Enlarged adult male breast a condition called gynaecomastia. It is becoming common problem in young adults due to sedentary lifestyle, obesity and lack of exercises. Prominent and enlarged male breast can be a source of embarrassment and distress. Most men try to hide it with thick shirts, avoid public exposure and bare chest activities. The whole procedure is designed in such a way to remove fat and/or glandular tissues from the breasts and in rare cases, the excess skin. Procedure
Surgery is done under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with deep sedation. Small incision is taken at 6 O clock position at junction of nipple and skin through which liposuction is done. Same incision is Extended and gland excised. Drain tubes may be kept to prevent accumulation of fluid.
Recovery
Patient can go home several hours after the surgery and needs to have a proper care. A compression vest or chest wrapping is required to be worn for several weeks after the surgery in order to help reduce the swelling. Sutures are removed 5-7 after the surgery.
